The Price of a Flower by Willameena

She sat amongst the flower beds and thought about the far away end.
“The day I die, which comes not soon, I dearly wish to be buried with you.”
She touches the face of a daisy bud which shudders at her lightest touch.
“Today I live, which comes too soon, and sadly I’m not here with you.”
The warming light of a summer’s day, shines itself upon her face.
“The simple things that we enjoy, a broken cup or silly toy,
Have yet to show me what it is, the reason here that we all live.”
She lays upon the welcoming grass and looks up to the clouds at last.
“Today I will enjoy my life, for all that comes is with a price.”
